disposable

“Disposable” is a series that asks the viewer to consider what — and whom — society considers disposable. The series of photos follows a Vietnamese immigrant as they become intertwined with a plastic bag. While the aesthetic and the scenery is beautiful and pristine, it forces us to reconcile some truths regarding our society and how we treat our planet. In most environmental justice spaces, it’s recognized that environmental degradation and climate change most impacts marginalized communities, and especially women of color. The series, then, is meant to illustrate those who often pay the biggest price: the environment and women.
